It's a crazy small world, and that's okay with me...

Photobucket

Jamie invited a friend (I try not to mention the names of kids who don't belong to me on my blog) over to play today and I eavesdropped on a funny conversation they had on the ride home. Here's just a little of it...

Jamie's friend: We were almost cousins you know.

Jamie: Yeah but I wouldn't be me if we were (funny that she figured that out).

They went on to say more and as I listened to their cute conversation I decided that I love this little town...
...I'm sorry, what was that?

Okay, I admit it. I love this little town because I have family here who have become my best friends and friends here who have become my family. I love that my kids have constant access to cousins and good friends (almost cousins or not) who are really like honorary cousins because we love them so much--including our good friends the Gales who we've been following around from town to town for years--seriously, it's a crazy story. And it's a crazy wonderful life in this crazy wonderful small town 'o mine.

Yeah I said it.
But don't be expecting me to stop boobing about the loss of my Valley of the Sun anytime soon cause it ain't gonna happen.

No. It's. Not.

I lived in the same town with my family for about a year. It was so nice for the kids to get to know their cousins better. Something about family...

I absolutely love the composition of that photo and their faces. Cute!

I lived in a small town most of my life and I do miss some things about it. However, I like to be able to get to grocery store within five minutes. Just saying.

Whoohooo! We've brought you over to our side! Hee Hee. I love my small town for just the very same reasons. And while I don't long for the excitement of a big city-I sure do get cravings for Panda Express and a mall every once in a while...

I feel the same way about Utah...

I have to admit that there are quite a few things I love about Utah. But my heart was planted in the Valley of the Sun from birth (even though I never got the privilege of living there until I was 29!) and the 11 years I spent living there only cemented my heart to that place even more. Anybody that's known me for more than 5 minutes knows the love affair I have with the Valley of the Sun. So grouse all you want about how much you miss it, and know that I'm up here in American Fork, UT, with my heart hurting right along with you! And it validates that I am not crazy--it's healthy to miss a place so much, right? :)
